The Air Display Hot Air Balloon Team provides hot air balloon rides for Toronto Balloon Tours. Air Display is owned and managed by Rolland Enterprises Inc..
To avoid disappointment please ensure your availability to confirm your balloon ride at your appointed notification call time.
The balloon ride lasts about one hour. The entire balloon adventure is three to four hours and includes the following:
- Passenger insurance.
- Personalized flight notification and briefing.
- Journey to the take-off site.
- Balloon inflation and deployment.
- Balloon flight to where the wind takes us.
- Traditional balloonist "after flight" champagne toast.
- Return to the rendezvous site.
Most flights take place at low altitude (less than 2,000 feet) so passengers may enjoy the view.
Hot Air Balloon Flight Regime
Air Display conducts fare paying passenger services under the Special Flight Operations Certificate issued to Rolland Enterprises Inc. by Transport Canada.
Air Display balloon flights are conducted by licensed Pilots using certified aircraft.
Balloon flights are conducted under the Visual Flight Rule regime (VFR) as defined by the Canadian Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs).
Balloon Ride Cancellation
Air Display reserves the right to cancel scheduled flights due to weather, security or safety reasons. The final flight decision is made at the launch field just prior to launch.
For safety reasons, passenger balloons do not fly when surface winds exceed 7 knots (13 km/h). The flight will be postponed if the weather is not conducive to safe ballooning.
Balloon Ride Rules
The Pilot is the sole charge aboard the balloon and has authority over all passengers. The Pilot may remove any passenger or object deemed a threat to flight safety.
Balloon Ride Fares
Balloon ride fares are due after the flight at the rendezvous site. Payment may be made by cash, cheque (with identification), VISA or MasterCard.
Balloon Ride Certificates
Balloon Ride Certificates do not expire. Ride Certificates older than one year from date of issue may be charged a rate increase. You will be notified at the time of booking if a rate increase applies to your pass. If the flight is cancelled due to weather then it will be rebooked. If the passenger cancels their scheduled flight with less than 48 hours notice or fails to meet at the predetermined rendezvous, the Ride Certificate will be deemed used. Ride Certificates are not refundable.
Balloon Ride Limits of Liability
This flight is subject to the Canadian Civil Aviation Regulations Part IV, "General Operating and Flight Rules", Section 606.02: Liability Insurance, Subsection (1), (2), (3) and (5). This section applies to every owner of an aircraft registered in Canada.

The insurance coverage referred to in subsection (2) need not extend to any passenger who is carried on board for the purpose of conducting a parachute decent.
No balloon owner shall operate an aircraft unless, in respect of every incident related to the operation of the aircraft, the owner has subscribed for liability insurance covering risks of public liability in an amount not less than $1,000,000 where the maximum permissible take-off weight of the aircraft is not greater than 7,500 pounds.
Air Display assumes no liability for lost or damaged baggage, personal effects or inconvenience.
Air Display is not responsible for the accommodation or travel costs of the passenger(s).
